ABSTRACT

Alphaviridae Alphaviridae, a group of arthropod-borne (arboviruses), singlestranded, positive RNA viruses, consist of 29 species with distribution patterns covering large areas of the world [1]. ey are transmitted to their human hosts by mosquitoes. e most common clinical signs of alphavirus infection in humans are fever, arthralgias, and rash [2]. If patients do not develop this triad of symptoms, isolated cases are di cult to recognize. In case of an epidemic, with increased awareness, the diagnosis is made more easily [3].
