ABSTRACT

Laser transmission is a branch of technology concerned with the study of the interaction between the laser beam and transmission medium, the principal task of which is to reveal the transmission characteristics and laws of the laser beam. The laser transmission medium can be divided into natural mediums (e.g., atmosphere, water) and artificial mediums (e.g., various kinds of optical waveguides, optical fibers, etc.). The laser information system in the earth’s surface atmosphere involves laser atmospheric transmission technology; laser underwater detection involves laser underwater transmission technology; while the fiberoptic communication network involves fiber-optic transmission technology.
