ABSTRACT
The ability to modify the structure of thin films and coatings at the nanoscale brings through quantum size effect the possibility to achieve peculiar characteristics that fit specific needs. The thin film nanostructurization approach has been widely applied as a potential solution, when the aim is going beyond in the development of materials with specific optical properties to enable desired applications.
