ABSTRACT

In essence, Hispanics are an ethnic distinction that may include different races as well as physical traits. Latin America is a place composed of Latin Americans. Not necessarily all Latin are Hispanic like is the case of the people from Brazil were Portuguese, not Spanish is the official language. The bottom line is that it really doesn’t matter for the purpose of having success as physicians when dealing with this population, as long as we recognize the culture, their traditions, mannerisms, and that the communication barrier of a different language must not be an excuse in not providing them state-of-the-art assessment and care.
