ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses our approach for performing SCAMPI (Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement) Class A appraisals. This chapter should be read subsequent to reading our Chapter 20, which offers an overview of the different appraisal types available for CMMI process improvement. Chapter 22 on PIIDs (Practice Implementation Indicator Descriptions) should also be read, as it discusses required appraisal documentation. These chapters are complicated and should not be read by the faint of heart.
