ABSTRACT
PEDICULOSIS CAPITIS Pediculosis capitis (head lice) is a worldwide infestation due to Pediculus humanus capitis (Figure 3.11), a blood-sucking insect and specific human parasite, which affects predominantly children aged between 4 and 14 years. It causes itching and, occasionally, secondary bacterial infections resulting from scratching with an associated local retroauricular adenopathy.
