ORBITAL SURGERY Techniques and Caveats There is a marked difference between eyelid and orbital surgery. Surgical misadventures during eyelid surgery are usually correctable by an experienced surgeon. Errors made during orbital surgery can result in death or blindness. The learning curve for orbital surgery is steep and may be unforgiving. Orbital cases are not that common, and experienced orbital surgeons are becoming equally uncommon.
