ABSTRACT

The nose has a central partnership with all the other facial units to impart conformity. It is a study of shading, curves, flow, and subtle blending with the other facial features ( Fig. 31.1 ). The ability to master the aesthetic portrayal of the nose requires an appreciation of the light reflected off these curves and how light can significantly change the three-dimensional nasal image. The nose is a consideration and integration of angles, planes, and protrusions. The reconstruction of such a masterful piece of artwork is therefore a challenge that has emerged over the millennia.
