ABSTRACT

In mammalian cells, the majority of ionizing radiation (IR)-induced DSBs are repaired by NHEJ, which occurs mainly in the G0 and G1 phase of the cycle. NEHJ is responsible for the repair of DSBs induced by agents such as IR and by the programmed DSBs generated during the generation of T-cell receptors and immunoglobulin molecules through V(D)J recombination.
