As competition and cost pressures increase, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries are placing an increased emphasis on operational excellence, which involves continuously improving a business, by increasing plant efficiencies and by cost reduction. Operational excellence focuses on both the processes and the performance, and this helps a company gain competitive advantage in the marketplace, enhances quality, and minimizes waste.
