ABSTRACT

Medical monitoring systems for military use have unique requirements . The purpose of this evaluation was to determine if changes in system designs improved the fit, comfort, durability, impact on military performance, impact on the body, and overall acceptability of the system. This was accomplished though an iterative process of five studies and four versions of the system. Information from soldiers obtained from these evaluations was provided to the materie l developers to improve the fonn, fit, and function of this system. The resulting system showed progressive improvements in comfort, durability and acceptability through a reduction in size and improvements in design and materials used.
