ABSTRACT

The article presents an innovative system supporting adjustment of city space to all inhabitants, including disabled and elderly persons. The system consists oftechnical and organizational solutions designed for helping disabled persons. The aim of the solutions is to enable all persons, including the disabled, access to information and improvement of mobility. The proposed system, in particular, consists of components of infrastructure designations, as well as recommendations for the design of city space, comprising the needs of amblyopic persons, blind persons, persons with physical dysfunctions and elderly persons. Above mentional designations take forms of maps, tables, information mats, which include information in the form of inter alia: text, graphics, colors and layers, as well as we study the possibility to improve the comprehension using fluorescent properties. Through the access to readable information and communicators, the proposed

system of designation aims at helping the people stay in the city space, move both in open and closed space, as well as to facilitate access to sphere of public life for all persons, but especially for ones, who so far have stayed in social isolation. The whole issues within the proposed project aims at contributing to a change in the approach to the development of social and personal life from the particular approach which is taking into account the needs of selected social groups, to nondiscriminatory approach, aimed at equalizing opportunities for all people.
