ABSTRACT

By providing optimal internal and external environmental conditions, the concept of "comfort in an office" equates to health and wellness in the workspace and workplace to improve overall productivity. A holistic approach to comfort research includes environmental conditions, physiological, psychological, emotional levels, pre-experiences, and sustainability as comfort factors. In this study, patients were surveyed on their pre-comfort experience and comfort levels before arriving, during, and after concluding an appointment. The results confirm the time of day relationships between pre-comfort experiences and comfort levels. In addition, people (i.e., staff, clients) make an office most comfortable. Office design that considers a combination of healthy environmental conditions, guided flow, and well-being provide optimum comfort.
