ABSTRACT

The main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between the subjective perception of physical capability and muscular strength during repetitive lifting tasks. The SUbjective perception of physical capability was defined as the sustainability that was the duration the individual was willing to perform based on his/her muscular strength. RPE-lO scale was used to report the change of perceived level of exertion. The results found that the exertion for the lifting task from floor level was mainly from legs muscle strength and the exertion for the lifting task from 50 em above the floor was from torso muscle strength. The sustain ability for the lifting tasks was affected by stature, lifting posture, and muscular strength. The duration showed highly correlated with the RPE value.
