ABSTRACT

The Manu V AR project was launched in May 2009 under the EU 7th Framework Program (ManuVAR, 2010). Its aim is to demonstrate that high value, high knowledge manual work presents an opportunity to improve the competitiveness of EU industries. This objective will be achieved by employing virtual and augmented reality technologies (VRI AR) to improve communication between people and systems. The application dimension of the project is split into five Clusters, each of them developing a specific industrial case, based on the general Manu V AR platform and methodology thus proving the main project concepts in different industrial areas (Ksassi et aI., 2010).
