ABSTRACT

This paper introduces a European-Union-funded research project ManuV AR that aims to provide a systematic technological and methodological system to support high knowledge high value manual work throughout product lifecycle. The Manu VAR approach is based on a product lifecycle management approach and virtual and augmented reality technology combined with the ergonomics methods. The paper sets the research framework of Manu V AR by identifYing the seven most prominent high level problem areas related to the manual work in Europe. Finally, it overviews the first ManuV AR results reported in other publications in this volume.
