ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we review the progress of Lyme disease (LD) vaccine development, the licensure in 1998 of the first human LD vaccine, the removal of that vaccine from the market in 2002, and the scientific and marketing challenges that lie ahead for the next generation of LD vaccines.
