ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter we discussed extensions of the basic LASSO problem to a wider class of regularizers. We will now focus on a more general class of loss functions, as discussed earlier in chapter 2, namely, on the exponential-family negative log-likelihood losses. Note, however, that several other popular types of loss functions remain out of scope of this book; see the bibliography section of chapter 2 for a brief summary.
