ABSTRACT
Within this chapter, all hitherto-reported electroanalytical applications of unmodi‘ed carbon paste electrodes (CPEs), chemically and biologically modi‘ed carbon paste electrodes (CMCPEs and CP-biosensors, respectively), as well as other related sensing units, including those made of new carbon paste components, are surveyed as a whole. It can be revealed here that the originally planned concept-a systematic presentation of the individual methods for all major categories of analytes and via the selection of typical procedures, their commentary and discussion on possible applications-had to be abandoned in confrontation with the enormous information material needed to be processed in a comprehensive way.
