ABSTRACT
Key Performance Indicator (KPI), Safety Measurement statistics that may be utilized to evaluate the safety performance of an organization. KPIs are usually categorized as leading or lagging. Lagging indicators are common incident statistics, such as injuries, fatalities, motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), and fires and are considered lagging due to the fact that they materialize after the incidents. Leading indicators are usually the number of management safety inspections, the number of safety meetings, levels of safety training, etc., and are considered proactive safety activities to prevent an incident.
