Behind every compelling description of strategy that a CEO, CFO, CIO, CSO, or any other corporate executive might present is a strategic planning process. Th ere are several basic elements and core principles in a strategic plan. Th e following is a brief overview of the basic elements; each of these elements and their subelements will be discussed in greater detail in the subsequent chapters.
