ABSTRACT
Good animal husbandry is an important laboratory animal care component. Proper rat husbandry includes meeting the housing, enrichment, nutritional, and sanitation needs in a manner that minimizes stress to animals, caretakers, and scientific personnel. Other important aspects involve animal transportation and record keeping.
