5.1 INTRODUCTION
Irrigation is the most important factor for increasing crop production in water scarcity regions. In many areas, agriculture is impossible without irrigation. In these areas, agriculture sector is the biggest consumer of water and consumes 50-85% of total water use [19, 36]. At the same time, water resources are becoming both quantitatively and qualitatively scarce.
