ABSTRACT
Fatigue tests have been carried out in bending and direct tension. Bending results show that lives of greater than 105 cycles are obtained in wet and dry conditions at the LOP stress (Figure 15.9) with lives in excess of 106 cycles at 10 N/mm2. Direct tension tests show a life of about 2 x 104 cycles at the BOP and a life of 106 cycles or above at 4.5 N/mm2 in both prolonged
