Sons Ltd. The basic unit consists of an impeller fixed to a vertical shaft and connected to a vertically mounted 3hp motor.The Greaves 50 and 80 mixers are the most popular models. The Greaves 50 mixer has a cement bag holder and shoot. It is available trolley or wall mounted with alternative hydraulic or pneumatic lift. All rotating parts are guarded by an automatic electric isolating switch that operates when the mixer is raised. The largest mixer, the Greaves 150, operates by the same impeller and drive system. This machine is supplied with a tilting frame to assist discharge.All the Greaves grc mixers employ a specially developed impeller (Figure 6.2). This is made from hardened steel in a disc shape, with radial cuts equally spaced around the circumference enabling alternate blades to be bent at right angles either up or down.
