ABSTRACT

An experimental study was conducted to clarify the effect of steel reinforcement on flexural behaviours of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Cement Composite (CFRC) beam. The ordinary reinforced concrete (RC) beams and the reinforced CFRC ones with three different effective depths were tested under pure bending loads. The RC beams with CFRC-overlay both including and not including the steel reinforcement were also tested. The CFRC in cooperation with the steel reinforcement had a beneficial effect on increasing the cracking load and the yielding one of the beam.
