ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION The present summary describes several important performance aspects of wall to slab connections using numeric simulation. For simplicity, the model examines a three-dimensional slice of the wall-to-wall connection subjected to the highest loading area. The reinforcement within the connection is then examined in order to establish the strength of the particular reinforcement detail and to determine if failure occurs. Without experimental test results to validate to the numeric simulations, the results should be appraised with respect to other results produced from within the group of simulations. The numeric simulations, together with the laboratory testing data, will produce an insightful examination of reinforced concrete connections subjected to blast loading conditions.
