ABSTRACT

The objective of the research described in this paper is to further the enabling technology for an advanced masonry tasking robot. To this end, a robot cell has been devised for the purpose of investigating fully automatic masonry constructions. Excluding mobility issues, which are are receiving extensive consideration elsewhere, all aspects of masonry production are represented in the cell, including material supply, quality checks, bond mix delivery and dispensing, manipulation and placement, survey and remedial action. In this, spin-offs are apparent which might aid existing manual process.
