ABSTRACT
There is an extensive literature on the Milloux problem and its gen eralizations . A natural question to ask is how to extend these results to general nonlinear systems. In [7, 6] , the phase-volume method is used to obtain generalizations of the Milloux-Hartman theorem to nonlinear differ ence equations and nonlinear ordinary differential equations, respectively. This approach proved to be sufficiently robust that it can also be applied to some systems with saddle-point equilibria.
