ABSTRACT

Coatings are sometimes applied for lubrication, as some corrosion-resistance materials such as titanium, stainless steel, and nickel based alloys will gall and seize during the tightening operation. Metals such as graphite and petroleum jelly (MIL-T-5544), molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), and silver are used.
