ABSTRACT
Generally, more than one tensioner is used at a time, with a common hydraulic line. This ensures equal, concurrent, symmetric loading of the flange. Tensioners have been used for studs from as small as 1/4 in. with a capacity of 2500 lb up to 20 in. with a capacity of 15,000,000 lb.
