Atthistime,operatorskillsareamajorfactorinobtainingrepeatablereadingsoftheultrasonic stretchofautomotivefasteners,wheretheboltstretchisnormallysmall.Accuracyandrepeatabilityofthemeasurementsaresignificantlyaffectedbytheplacementoftheultrasonic transducerontheendofthefastener,bythetemperatureasitcreepsupwhiletheoperator holdsthefastenerheadbyhand,andevenbytheamountofpressuretheoperator'shandexerts onthetransducerwhileitismountedonthefastener.
