The purpose of the study was to determine the composition of the elastomers characterized by absorption properties of the X-ray radiation. Natural rubber (RSS I) was applied as the elastomer and matrix and bismuth (III) oxide (Bi2O3), bismuth oxochloride (BiOCl), gadolinium (III) oxide (Gd2O3), bismuth (III) gallate (C7H5BiO6·xH2O), and barium sulfate (BaSO4) were added as fillers. The vulcanizates morphology was assessed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). X-ray absorption measurements were carried out using isotopic source 241Am (60 keV) with 40 kBq activity. The mechanical properties and hardness (Shore method) of the composites were examined. The cross-link density was calculated using the Flory-Rehner equation. The samples were subjected to UV aging.
