ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with various industrial processes related to the manufacture of chemical and biotechnology products with a special focus on the downstream. An overview of the existing downstream facilities will help the engineers while designing new manufacturing facilities. These examples are selected so that they cover most of the downstream operations. Detailed discussions of the downstream operations are provided in the subsequent chapters.
