ABSTRACT
The Millennium Dome is constructed in the Greenwich district of London near Thames river. The structure was a complex and complicated building operation-it is the biggest dome in the world. The construction process started in 1997 and completed in 1999. The diameter of the shell is 320 m and its rise above the ground is 50 m (Figure 7.1.1). The shall perimeter is 1005 m, the dome covers an area of 80425 m2. The radius of curvature of the dome is 281 m and a half of its central angle is 34.7o.
