ABSTRACT

Nucleic Acids Nucleic acids are polymeric complex and each unit contains a phosphate nucleoside. In the polymeric chain different purine and pyrimidine may be attached to the sugar base. Purine and pyrimidine are the cyclic nitrogenous compounds. The purine and pyrimidine attached to sugar base are known as nucleosides. When nucleosides are bonded with phosphate it is called nucleotides. An account of purine and pyrimidine associated with nucleic acids is given hereunder.
