ABSTRACT
The anatomical theatre at Padua was built in 1594. Theatres were used to teach anatomy in early medical schools. Anatomical dissections took place in the centre, and the surrounding tiers enabled students to get a good view. The anatomical theatre at Padua was the first of its kind.
