ABSTRACT
William Hunter (1718–1783) was a Scottish physician, obstetrician and medical teacher. His passion was communicating his knowledge to others and he was keen to introduce European ideas to British medicine. He did his initial training in anatomy at St George’s Hospital and subsequently went on to become one of the most acclaimed obstetricians in London.
