ABSTRACT

In Chapter 12, we outlined the tenants of Design Thinking, a structured approach to spur creativity with the aim of implementing innovative new capabilities and services. We cannot discuss Design Exploration (DE) without revisiting aspects of the Design Thinking process. Design Exploration is the human-driven, often computer-assisted, divergent/convergent process used to evolve and investigate multi-disciplinary design space with the intent of design discovery and to inform decision making throughout the design process. 1 DE is a particular way of arriving at an optimal design solution.
