ABSTRACT

Over the years, many such models have been developed [1]. This book focusses on just one model, the skills-rules-knowledge (SRK) model developed by Jens Rasmussen in the 1970s. There are two reasons for choosing this model. Firstly, many of the more recent models have been based directly or indirectly on this, or have developed some aspect of it. Secondly, and more importantly for this book, it was this model that led to the development of the analysis methods described here. Most importantly of all, the data presented here have been collected systematically over a period of 36 years with a basis on this model and have been categorised according to the model concepts.
