Example: An existing mechanical room serving the pond fountain has access from an existing gravel road (Figure 9.1). The gravel road is to be demolished for a new building. The mechanical room building does not have permanent occupancy, and the pump is shut off during the winter season. A new 20-feet-wide access lane cannot be provided to the left of the pond due to a steep hill. How can access be achieved so that the mechanical room building can meet the code?
