ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT The product of a digital line graph and map (DLGM) is a vector data set of a map that is software independent. The advantages of this product, such as commonality and multipurpose applications, have been confirmed by the mapping industry and geographic information system (GIS) applications. First, this study outlines the technological framework of DLGM products. Second, quality control methods and mechanisms are described, which involve dynamic modelling based on a topological map model, data dictionaries, and the DLGM integration template. Finally, the role of DLGM quality control is discussed. In recent years, a number of provincial fundamental DLGM products have been produced by our DLGM integrated technology system. The results of applications have proved that the product quality control theory and technology adopted by our system are effective and feasible.
