ABSTRACT
The evolutionary ecology of insect immunity is the integrated study of insect immune defenses. This not only takes into account the evolutionary background or history of the focal organism and ecological factors such as the species ecology or species interactions (including host-parasite interactions), but also the underlying molecular mechanisms at the genetic and epigenetic levels.
