ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews the findings of intracranial and skull base trauma. Even though computed tomography (CT) is the most efficient method of triage for acute head trauma because it is very fast and very accurate for the diagnosis of life-threatening conditions, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has a few indications both hyperacutely and in the subacute and chronic evaluation. After a few epidemiological and clinical notes, we will review the different kinds of intracranial injury.
