ABSTRACT

Given the changing technology, new laws, changing equipment, and other factors, safety and loss prevention professionals today are often confronted with new problems and issues that do not have “tried-and-true” solutions. More often than safety and loss prevention professionals would like, the solution to the problem is not “in the book” or covered by a particular Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standard. Thus, safety and loss prevention professionals should look for new and creative ideas incorporating input from all levels of management and employees, evaluate new products and technologies, and utilize the expertise and experience of outside networks and agencies to craft a creative and workable solution.
