ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION In Chapter 10, we discussed user interface design flaws that can lead to use error. Now, to promote user interfaces that are resistant to use error, we offer the following condensed guidance. We derived the guidance from current standards and the lessons we have learned from thousands of usability test sessions and the use errors that have occurred. You could say that we are simply looking at the same issues from opposite perspectives as those in Chapter 10, but we think that this presentation can serve as a helpful checklist of sorts for user interface designers.
