ABSTRACT

Time-lapse imaging also facilitates quantitative assessment of the quality of the ICM and TE cells, which can vary widely. In most clinical programmes, blastocyst grading considers both cell lines and gives an independent grade to each.3 For many years it was usually considered that the ICM grade was the most predictive of outcome, but recently there is growing evidence that the TE quality may be more predictive of implantation potential.4,5

Figure 10.4 shows the variation in quality of these two cell lines that can be observed.
