ABSTRACT

C2 = r2S/( 4T) (4.8) There is one unique position where the data curve coincides with the type curve. Values of W(u), 1/u, s, and t recorded from a common point (the match-point) when the curves are aligned can be used with Equations 4.1 and 4.2 to compute transmissivity and storativity. Figure 4.1 shows a data curve, type curve, and the alignment of the two curves by the match-point method. The axes have been shifted so that the curves are aligned, and a match-point has been selected. The match-point can be selected at any convenient location, on or off of the data curve, as long as the curves are aligned. Detailed descriptions of the match-point procedures specific to each conceptual model and additional examples are in Part II.
