The theoretical basis of the match-point method is described in Chapter 4. The steps listed below are for the case where S can be estimated with reasonable accuracy. The procedure can be easily modified for situations where KIK' or T = Km can be estimated. i EstimateS and compute a using Equation 14.9. For each observation well compute p

using Equation 14.15 and prepare a plot ofF(u, a, rw/B, p) vs. 1/u on logarithmic paper. This plot is called the type curve. A separate type curve must be prepared for each well with a different value of p. The type curves can be plotted using the values ofF(u, a, rw/B, p) computed with the computer program TYPE9 (Appendix B).
