ABSTRACT

The function W(t5, J3, c, cr, d/m, 1/m, do/m, /ofm) defined in Equation 21.8 is a function of seven dimensionless parameters. If the aquifer thickness and screen locations of all wells are known, the unknown parameters are t5, J3, c, and cr. To proceed it is necessary to assume the value of two of the following ratios: SJSy (so that a can be computed using Equation 21.19), K'/Kz (so that c can be computed using Equation 21.18), or Kz/Kr (so that ~can be computed using Equation 21.17). The remaining dimensionless parameters can be determined by application of the match-point method. The following method of analysis is based on the assumption that estimates of SJSy and K'/Kz are available. The method can be easily modified for the case where estimates are available for other combinations of aquifer and aquitard properties.
